Rare original, in excellent collector's condition, commemorative plaque in honor of the "Return Home" of the inhabitants of the German border town of Pirmasens - Pirmasenser Heimkehr 1940, who were evacuated in September 1939 due to the town's proximity to the border with France. The return of the inhabitants began on July 30th 1940.

Pirmasens is a town in Germany in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. On the front of the token there is an image of the date - 1940. In a circle there is an inscription in Gothic script on the top of the token - Pirmasenser on the bottom - Heimkehr literally translates as "to return home".

On September 1, 1939, immediately after the outbreak of World War II, the residents of Permasens were evacuated from their homes and taken deep into Germany. The town itself and the surrounding area began to prepare for military action for the war with France. They did not return until after the victory over the French in 1940.
